The Civil War..

I have been reading this book, Its called The Faith of Our Fathers, By NC Allen..
It makes me so angry, and sad, and ashamed all at the same time.
I'm so grateful to live in this day and age, where ALL people are created Equally, That there is no segregation, that my children aren't raised around begets and aren't subject to grow up with an attitude that they are better than anyone, because of there heritage...
My Mother Raised me Color Blind, I was taught to see people for who they are, Not "What" they are. I'm so Grateful that people Like President Lincoln Stood for something that was right, The Civil war was ridiculous, Shedding Blood over the right to own people just because they are different. Believing that keeping these poor slaves "ignorant" would make them happy about there situation. Its despicable, I cannot believe that there are still people out there who think this way.. Who gives you the right?! Its ridiculous..
I know that i would have been an abolitionist from the very beginning, I would have stood on those steps at Lincolns inauguration, I would have Stood for Righteousness and i would have Marched in the streets with Martin Luther King Jr. I want My children to know about the Men and Women in This country that had it right all along. Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. I want them to know that its the RIGHT thing to do, To love everyone, to Hope for Equality and to fight for whats right.. whew! i feel better..
